Cranmer Court

Cranmer Court opened in 2010 and is a purpose built, level-access, 8 bedroom home with an attached 2 – bedroom annex. Cranmer Court offers high quality 24 hour residential support for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs, tailored to meet individual needs.

Each individual bedroom has en-suite facilities, and where required profiling beds and ceiling track hoists. There is also a manual hoist available.

There is a height adjustable sensory bath which will play music of choice, display sensory lights and make bubbles. All furniture and decor meets individually assessed needs.

There is a large communal area, and a smaller tv room / sensory room for individuals to enjoy. There is also a large level-access garden area to the rear of the building for all to enjoy.

In order to provide additional space for people supported to engage in activities and time away from the other communal areas of the home in a quiet area, a garden room has been installed. This has been designed according to the wishes and needs of the people supported in the home to maximise its benefit.

There are waking staff present 24/7 and during daytime hours there is always a senior support worker present in the building. All staff members complete the care certificate as well as mandatory training within the first 12 weeks of employment. Staff also receive bespoke training in relevant conditions according to the needs of the individuals being supported.

There is a registered manager in post, as well as a deputy manager and three team leaders. In addition to this the home has established and maintains strong community links as well as relationships with multi-disciplinary teams and community professionals. One to one support is provided when required and all individuals are supported with appropriate levels of staff in the community as per individual risk assessments.

Cranmer Court is located in a thriving community on the outskirts of Leeds and is situated adjacent to a row of shops and Moor Allerton Retail Park with its library, café, pub and supermarket only a short walk away. Cranmer Court is located opposite a bus route directly into the centre of Leeds and the home has its own adapted vehicle which enables easy access to the community. There is also a full-time driver employed at the home. The home and the people supported also benefit from visiting external professionals who come into the home and offer activities such as music therapy, mosaic making and aromatherapy.

  • A fully insulated, heated garden room which provides an additional space for people to engage in activities and to spend time relaxing, away from the other communal areas of the home

Spent almost 2 weeks in this home for placement. Both the professionals and residents are incredibly nice and fun to work with. All the residents receive the highest quality of care, whilst have the freedom to choose what they want and how they want their care provided, which is fantastic! Rob and Sarah honestly do an outstanding job running the home. They always ensure that all the residents and staff are happy and are enjoying their time at the home. They even know sign language, which honestly blew me away and it showed just how committed they are to providing excellent care. Highly recommend this home to both residents and to anyone wanting to work there.

I have visited this home on many occasions in a professional capacity and always admired the courtesy and respect given to the residents. The staff teams and management have a good working relationship. There is clear emphasis on training, care protocol and investment in facilities that all contribute to a safe and happy place to be.
